Making new friends is hard, especially hard for caregivers of small children. Over the past year, Ammie Gray and Jennifer Muller, children’s librarians with Frederick County Public Libraries, recognized this need as they conducted their weekly infant and baby storytimes. Now, they want to share with fellow programmers how to create a safe environment for parent-led discussion, the tips and tricks of promotion, and the many community partners available for use no matter your library’s location. Participants will leave with a list of appropriate topics and areas of focus, ways to encourage parent participation, and ample time for questions.
